Quick answer
Tradition Locksmith serves Jensen Beach, FL 34957 as a mobile locksmith from Port St. Lucie, about 9 miles and close to 20 minutes from downtown Jensen Beach. Common jobs here are condo lockouts on Hutchinson Island, rekeying vacation rentals between guests, keypad and smart lock installs, and car lockouts at beach and causeway parking lots.
Our Jensen Beach locksmith work covers both sides of the Indian River Lagoon, because Jensen Beach is really two places. The mainland part is unincorporated Martin County, with the lagoon and the little town of Ocean Breeze on its east side, Sewall’s Point to the southeast, Rio to the south and Stuart to the southwest. The other part sits across the water on Hutchinson Island, where the public beach is.
The Jensen Beach Causeway ties the two together. It is State Road 732, NE Causeway Boulevard, and it crosses the lagoon on the Frank A. Wacha Bridge. The first bridge was a drawbridge built in 1965, and it was replaced with a fixed bridge in 2003 and 2004. Once you are on the island, the north end of the Martin County beach strip gets its mail through Jensen Beach, ZIP 34957. So does the Hutchinson Island South area just over the line in St. Lucie County. That is why a condo with a Jensen Beach address can sit in either county.
So when you call, give us the full street address and the building name. NE Ocean Boulevard on the Martin side and South Ocean Drive on the St. Lucie side are different roads, and the address tells us which one to take.
Local knowledge
Downtown Jensen Beach is about 9 miles from central Port St. Lucie. The usual drive is Port St. Lucie Boulevard to U.S. 1, then east on Jensen Beach Boulevard, and it takes close to 20 minutes without traffic. Jensen Beach Boulevard runs 2.9 miles from U.S. 1 to Indian River Drive. Going on over the causeway to the beach at NE Ocean Boulevard is closer to 14 miles and about 25 minutes.
The town has deep roots. John Laurence Jensen, a Danish immigrant, set up a pineapple plantation here in 1881, and by 1895 Jensen was known as the Pineapple Capital of the World, shipping more than a million boxes a year. A hard freeze that year and fires in 1908 and 1910 ended the boom. Today the Census counts 12,652 people and a median age of 55.2. About a third of residents are 65 or older. On Census day in 2020, 14 percent of the 7,089 homes here were empty. A home that sits closed for months is the kind that ends up with a stiff deadbolt or a dead keypad battery.

What we do here
Every service below is mobile. We bring the tools and parts to your door, driveway or parking lot in Jensen Beach.
Locked out of a house, car or business. Damage-free entry first, proof of ownership every time.
Deadbolts, knobs, sliders and storm doors fitted and repaired at your home.
New pins so old keys stop working, or new hardware when the lock is worn out.
Keypad and Wi-Fi deadbolts fitted, aligned and set up with your codes.
Remote head keys, flip keys and push to start fobs, programmed on site.
Storefront and office locks, closers, panic bars and staff change rekeys.
Master key systems, keypads and fob readers for offices and rentals.
If you are locked out of your own unit, call us with the building name, your unit number and the floor. We can open the door to your unit. We cannot open the lobby, the pool gate or other common doors without the association’s say so. If the front entry needs a fob, ask the front desk or a neighbor to let us in, or meet us at the door.
Before we open anything, we ask for proof that you live there. A driver’s license with the address works. So does a lease, a deed, a utility bill or a letter from the management company. If your ID is locked inside, tell us when you call. A manager or front desk confirming you live there, or a lease or bill you can pull up on your phone, may work instead. It takes a minute, and it keeps strangers out of your place.
We try damage-free entry first. If the lock is a high-security type or has failed inside, we explain the choices before we drill or replace anything. See our lockout service for how this works on houses, too.
If you rent out a condo or house in Jensen Beach, by the week or by the season, a simple turnover routine keeps your keys under control.
For most rentals, yes. A keypad deadbolt means no keys to mail, no keys to lose, and a new code for every guest. A Wi-Fi or Bluetooth smart lock goes one step further and lets you set codes from your phone, even if you spend the summer up north. Kwikset and Schlage both make models that fit a standard door prep.
Two warnings from coastal installs. Pick a lock with a real key backup, because batteries die and electronics do not love salt air off the lagoon. And if your condo association controls the door hardware, check the rules before you change anything on a unit entry door. Our smart lock installation page covers models and setup. If you own several rental units, a master key setup lets your cleaner carry one key while guests only open their own unit.

We can meet you in the beach or causeway lot and open most cars without damage. Beach parking is an easy place to lock your keys in. Jensen Sea Turtle Beach, at the corner of NE Ocean Boulevard and the causeway, has lifeguards, pavilions, restrooms and a parking lot, and it is easy to shut the keys in the trunk while you unload chairs and coolers. The causeway park has its own lot, plus boat ramps, a fishing pier and four docks, so it is just as easy to launch a boat and leave the keys behind in the truck.
In town, Thursday nights bring Jammin’ Jensen, when the downtown streets fill up with music and food and a car door gets shut in a hurry. The big lots at Treasure Coast Square on U.S. 1, the Simon mall with Macy’s, Dillard’s, JCPenney and a Regal theater, are another easy place to lock keys in.
We open most makes and models. German makes are the exception, so we do not work on Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Porsche or Volkswagen. If the key is lost, not just locked in, our car locksmith service can cut and program a new one for most vehicles.
A condo or house that sat closed all summer can have a stiff deadbolt, a dead keypad battery or a slider that will not latch. Try every lock the day you arrive, while you still have time to call during our hours.
FAQ
It can be either one. The north end of the Martin County part of the island gets Jensen Beach mail, ZIP 34957. So does the Hutchinson Island South area in St. Lucie County, which sits north of the county line along South Ocean Drive. We serve both, so just give us the full street address and building name when you call.
Often, yes. Tell us when you call so we can plan for it. A building manager or front desk can confirm you live there, or you may be able to show a lease, deed or utility bill on your phone. We will not open a unit for someone who cannot show they live there or own it. That rule protects you as much as anyone.
Rekey any time a key goes missing, any time you change cleaners or managers, and at least once a year if you still hand out metal keys. Many owners switch to a keypad lock so they can change the code for each guest instead. Rekeying keeps your hardware and only changes the key that works it.
They can, if you choose well and keep up with them. Buy a model rated for outdoor use, keep fresh batteries in it, and make sure it has a key backup. Shutters and a covered entry help a lot. If a keypad starts missing digits or the bolt drags, have it checked before it fails with a guest at the door.
Yes, for most makes and models. Tell us which lot you are in and what you drive, and we will give you a total price before we head over the causeway. German brands are not on our list: Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Porsche and Volkswagen. Please have your ID and vehicle paperwork ready.
Our hours are 7am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 7am to 5pm on Friday. We are closed on Saturday. That covers early beach mornings and most evenings in town, six days a week. If you are locked out on a Saturday, call us early Sunday and we will get you on the schedule.
